Taylor Fresh Foods has announced a voluntary recall of its Honey Balsamic Salad Kit after discovering a packaging error that could pose health risks to consumers with allergies. The recall concerns the salad kits sold at Kroger and Walmart stores across 25 states. The issue stems from the dressing packets included with the salad kits, which were found to contain undeclared sesame and soy. These ingredients are known allergens and can cause serious or potentially life-threatening reactions in sensitive individuals.

The problem arose because the dressing supplied by Latitude 36 Foods was mismarked. Instead of the standard Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette, the packages contained Asian Sesame Ginger dressing, which includes sesame and soy ingredients. The product in question is the Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit, available in 6/8.3 oz packages. The affected products have package codes starting with "TFRS" and have "Best If Used By" dates up to September 4, 2025. The code is printed on the top right corner of the packaging.

Consumers who purchased these salad kits are advised not to eat them and to either discard or return the products for a full refund. Although no illnesses have been reported so far, the company emphasizes the importance of caution for individuals with allergies to sesame or soy.

The recall impacts products sold in multiple states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.

For further information or to address concerns, customers can contact Taylor Fresh Foods’ customer care line at 855-455-0098 during business hours. Additional details are available through the FDA’s recall notice.

This situation underscores the importance of proper allergen labeling and rigorous quality control in food production to safeguard consumers’ health.
