Between April 2022 and March 2025, poison control centers in the U.S. recorded a 72% increase in exposure cases involving these products, with the majority of affected individuals being children under five years old.
Toxic effects from ingesting nicotine pouches can occur at surprisingly low doses—sometimes as little as 1 to 4 milligrams of nicotine—and can be life-threatening.
