Bugaboo has recalled over 18,000 Giraffe high chairs due to a fall hazard caused by loose legs, posing a risk of injury. Owners are advised to contact the company for a free repair kit.

Parents and caregivers should be aware that Bugaboo has issued a recall for more than 18,000 of its Giraffe high chairs following reports of the legs detaching from the frame. The recall was prompted by concerns that the legs could separate if the screws are not securely tightened during assembly, primarily due to manufacturing issues. Such detachment poses a significant risk of falls, which could result in serious injuries or, in the worst cases, fatalities.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a notice on June 12, 2025, warning consumers to cease using the recalled chairs immediately. To date, there have been 22 reports of the chair legs separating, with 13 cases involving minor injuries. The recall affects approximately 18,280 units, which were sold nationwide.

Owners of the affected chairs are urged to contact Bugaboo promptly for a free repair kit, including new screws and an Allen wrench, to secure the legs properly. Customers who purchased the Giraffe high chairs after May 1, 2025, do not need to take any action, as the repair kit should already be included in their purchase.

These high chairs were manufactured in the Czech Republic and are about 30 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 23 inches deep. They come in five color options: blue, black, natural wood/white, warm wood/gray, and white. The chairs were sold between May 2023 and April 2025 through retailers such as Nordstrom, the Bugaboo website, and Amazon, with each costing approximately $380.

For more details and a full list of the recalled item numbers, consumers can visit the official CPSC and Bugaboo websites. The company emphasizes that safety is their top priority and has already contacted known customers to facilitate repairs.
