Recall of 100,000 Amazon Mattresses Due to Fire Safety Concerns

Approximately 100,000 Crayan mattresses sold on Amazon are being recalled due to fire safety violations, with no injuries reported yet. Consumers are advised to stop using and contact the manufacturer for refunds.
In a significant safety alert, approximately 100,000 mattresses sold exclusively on Amazon by the Japanese brand Crayan are being recalled due to non-compliance with federal flammability standards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on June 18, 2025, warning consumers that these mattresses could pose a fire hazard despite no reported incidents or injuries so far.
The recalled products include Crayan brand mattresses with a thickness of 10 and 12 inches, available in twin, full, queen, and king sizes. These mattresses feature a white quilted top with gray sides, with "Crayan" visibly marked on the gray panel and labels indicating size, fiber content, and "WG/P Foundation." Notably, the mattresses were manufactured in Japan and sold solely through Amazon between July 2022 and June 2024, with retail prices ranging from $100 to $220.
The issue stems from the mattresses not meeting federal standards for flammability, which is a critical safety requirement to prevent fires. Although there have been no reported incidents or injuries linked to these products, the risk remains significant enough to warrant an extensive recall.
Consumers who purchased these mattresses are urged to stop using them immediately. To secure a refund, they should contact Crayan at crayan_service@hotmail.com. Customers are advised to mark the mattress with "Recalled" in large letters on the white top and send a photo of the marked mattress via email. Once verified, Crayan will issue a full refund.
The company has already reached out to affected customers, but it is recommended to check order histories or contact Crayan directly to confirm if your mattress qualifies for the recall. For more detailed information, the official recall notice is available through the CPSC website.
This recall highlights the importance of adhering to fire safety standards in household products, particularly furniture items like mattresses, to ensure consumer safety and prevent potential fire hazards. Stay informed and verify product safety if you suspect you may own one of these mattresses. Source: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2025-06-amazon-mattresses-recalled-hazard.html
