Recall of Freeze-Dried Fruit from Sam's Club Due to Listeria Contamination

Sam's Club has recalled certain batches of freeze-dried fruit due to potential Listeria contamination, urging consumers to discard or return affected products for safety.
In a recent food safety alert, several batches of freeze-dried fruit sold exclusively at Sam's Club have been voluntarily recalled after internal testing revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The product in question is the "Member's Mark Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Pack," available in 15-count boxes. The recall affects boxes purchased between July 1 and July 25, 2025, identified by UPC code 1 93968 50900 2. These products were sold across 42 states, including Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Texas, and many others.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises consumers to avoid eating the recalled fruit. Instead, they should either dispose of the product or return it to any Sam's Club location for a full refund. The presence of Listeria is a serious health concern; this bacteria can cause severe illness, especially in vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals. Symptoms of infection include high fever, muscle aches, headache, nausea, diarrhea, and stiffness. In severe cases, Listeria infection can lead to complications like meningitis or even death.
Fortunately, no illnesses related to this contamination have been reported so far. The recall was initiated after routine testing by the manufacturer, Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC, detected Listeria monocytogenes in the product. Consumers with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the company's customer service at 770-387-0451, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
For detailed lot codes and use-by dates, shoppers can visit the FDA's official recall announcement page. This recall highlights the importance of food safety and vigilance when handling packaged foods.
