Costco has issued a recall for more than 3,000 pounds of its Kirkland Signature Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke after tests revealed a potential listeria contamination. The product, supplied by Annasea Foods Group, was sold in the deli section of Costco stores across multiple states including Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall on September 20, 2025. While no illnesses have been reported so far, health officials advise consumers not to eat the affected product. The recall was initiated after a positive test result for Listeria monocytogenes was found in green onions used exclusively in the Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke on September 17, 2025. Annasea Foods Group is actively working with the supplier to determine the root cause.
The specific recalled item is the Kirkland Signature Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke (item #17193), packaged in a clear plastic clamshell with a sell-by date of September 22, 2025 and a pack date of September 18, 2025. Approximately 3,315 pounds of product were recalled.
Customers who purchased this product are urged to either dispose of it safely or return it to Costco for a full refund. For inquiries, consumers can contact Annasea Foods Group at 425-558-7809 during weekday hours or via email at info@annasea.com.
Listeria is a harmful bacteria that can cause listeriosis, presenting symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and muscle aches. Health authorities advise vigilance and prompt action if symptoms appear, especially after consuming the recalled product. Additional information about listeria can be found on the CDC website.
